Dr. Ramana Appireddy
Dr. Ramana Appireddy is a distinguished Neurologist with over a decade of clinical and academic experience. He completed his Neurology residency in 2012 at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences. Subsequently, he pursued a two-year Stroke and Vascular Neurology fellowship at the esteemed Calgary Stroke Program, University of Calgary, graduating in 2016 as Chief Fellow. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Appireddy earned a Master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, UK, in 2018.
He commenced his academic career at Queen’s University in 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Neurology and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020, reflecting his dedication to both education and research. In 2024, Dr. Appireddy founded the Neurocentre of Eastern Ontario, aiming to enhance access to specialized neurological consultation and outpatient services for patients in Kingston and the surrounding regions.
Dr. Appireddy is an accomplished researcher with a notable track record of securing multiple internal and external grants throughout his tenure at Queen’s University. He has contributed to several landmark clinical trials, including ESCAPE, AcT, POINT, and TEMPO-2, which have been instrumental in advancing stroke care protocols in Canada and internationally. His numerous peer-reviewed publications further attest to his commitment to advancing neurological science and improving patient outcomes.
