NEO Clinic Achieves National Accreditation, Continues Expanding Access to Neurological Care

Accreditation Canada's Primer Award marks the latest milestone in NEO Clinic's work to bring specialist neurological care closer to home for patients across Southeastern Ontario.

Kingston, Ontario – October 6, 2026 – Neurocentre of Eastern Ontario (NEO Clinic) has been awarded the Accreditation Canada Primer Award for Ambulatory Care Services, marking an important milestone in the clinic’s vision to improve access to neurological care for patients in Kingston and across Southeastern Ontario.

Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum program evaluates health-care organizations against national standards for quality and patient safety. NEO Clinic, an independent specialist neurology practice based in Kingston’s east end, completed its accreditation survey as part of its ongoing commitment to accessible, safe and high-quality ambulatory neurological care in the region.

“On our path to improve access to neurological care for patients in Kingston and surrounding areas, this accreditation is a meaningful milestone for our team,” said Dr. Ramana Appireddy, Neurologist and Medical Director at NEO Clinic. “This achievement reflects the standards we hold ourselves to every day and gives our patients and the physicians who refer to us added confidence in the care we provide.”

As demand for neurological services continues to grow, NEO Clinic is developing a community-based model designed to increase access to timely, patient-centred neurological care while complementing specialized hospital-based services. The clinic’s expansion into a 4,000-square-foot facility in June 2026 represents an important step toward that vision. The expanded facility provides additional capacity for specialist assessment and ongoing management of common neurological conditions, including headache and migraine, stroke recovery, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions. Its Comprehensive Headache and Migraine Clinic provides dedicated assessment and treatment for patients with headache disorders, while allied health services, including neuro-physiotherapy and athletic therapy for concussion, support rehabilitation and ongoing neurological care.

By bringing specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation together in a community setting, NEO Clinic aims to create additional capacity within the regional health-care system and help patients access appropriate neurological care closer to home.

“Kingston Health Sciences Centre congratulates Dr. Appireddy and the Neurocentre of Eastern Ontario team on achieving accreditation by Accreditation Canada for their ambulatory neurology clinic centre,” said Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick, Chief of Staff & Executive Vice President Medical and Academic Affairs at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. “This achievement reflects their commitment to providing high-quality neurological care to patients across Eastern Ontario. We are pleased to see expanded access to neurological services in the community and the important role NEO will play in helping meet the growing demand for care, while supporting KHSC’s role in delivering specialized tertiary-level clinical care, education and research.”

The Accreditation Canada Primer Award provides an important foundation for NEO Clinic's next phase of growth. The clinic continues to improve its systems to reduce wait times, with current access to a first appointment within 90 days of referral, and a longer-term vision of expanded ambulatory neurological capacity across Southeastern Ontario, working alongside hospital and primary care partners.
