Accessibility Statement

The Neurocentre of Eastern Ontario (NEO) is committed to providing an accessible healthcare environment that respects the dignity and independence of all patients, visitors, and staff. We strive to ensure that our services are accessible to individuals with disabilities and that barriers to access are identified and addressed whenever possible.

Our clinic follows the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and is dedicated to improving accessibility in our facilities, services, and communication.

Accessible Services: NEO is committed to providing services in a manner that is accessible to all patients. We aim to ensure that individuals with disabilities are able to access our services in ways that respect their dignity and promote independence. Assistance from a support person is welcome during clinic visits when needed.

Communication and Information: We strive to communicate with patients in ways that take into account individual accessibility needs. Upon request, we will make reasonable efforts to provide information in accessible formats or with communication supports when possible.

Patients who require assistance with communication during their visit are encouraged to inform the clinic in advance so that appropriate accommodations can be arranged.

Accessible Facilities: NEO operates from a newly built clinical facility designed in accordance with the most recent Ontario Building Code and accessibility standards. The clinic has been developed with accessibility in mind to help ensure that patients with mobility, sensory, or other accessibility needs can comfortably access our services. Our facility includes accessible entryways, patient areas, and clinical spaces designed to support safe and convenient access for patients and visitors. Our staff are also available to assist patients who may require help navigating the clinic environment.

Service Animals: Service animals are welcome in the clinic where permitted by law. If a service animal is required for a patient visit, our staff will work to ensure that the patient can receive care in a safe and respectful environment.

Feedback on Accessibility: NEO welcomes feedback regarding accessibility and how we can improve access to our services. Patients and visitors are encouraged to share any suggestions or concerns related to accessibility.

Contact Us: If you have questions about accessibility or require accommodation for a clinic visit, please contact the Neurocentre of Eastern Ontario. We are committed to working with patients to ensure that services are accessible and inclusive.
